The Mayor of London and TfL are holding a Car Free Day on Sunday 22 September 2019.  Approximately 20 kilometres of roads around locations in central London will be closed to vehicles.  The event will take place from 1030 – 1700 hours and include a range of activities. These activities will be coordinated with a number of other London events, including Totally Thames festival, the 125th anniversary of Tower Bridge and Open House London. It is expected that the event will attract large crowds throughout the day.

Extensive road closures in the City are expected from 0700 hours to 1900 hours and vehicle access within the event footprint will be significantly restricted.  TfL are encouraging people to plan ahead, check travel information and allow sufficient time for their journey.

The proposed  area within the City of London, includes the Square Mile in a traffic-free environment around London Bridge, Tower Bridge and Tooley Street.
