Today I joined a fascinating discussion on the consequences of the new minority government in Canada. There were interesting observations on the make up of the opposition and where the minority government will find support, and of course how it will impact policy domestically and overseas in dealing with the UK. Great panel including a former Deputy Prime Minister and a Cabinet Secretary ....another impressive event from the Canada-UK Chamber event... ...but most encouraging is the positive hopes for UK - Canada relations and I hope increased trade between us. Our panellists explained how Canadians see the UK and shared views on the likelihood of a trade deal post Brexit.
