London Archives

The City of London is old, but not many know how old, and just what a fabulous archive of history it holds.  Today we relaunched the London Archives https://www.thelondonarchives.org

We are not sure how old the City Corporation truly is but the oldest document is from King William in 1067! Ever since the archive has been collecting documents, maps, photos, sound and video records of London.  It’s the second largest archive in the UK and has some notable nuggets of history like the first recorded use of a computer for business in 1951! The history of the city and archive are even inspiring modern computer games Civilization!  As the inspiration at the heart of Civilization VII, to be released in February 2025, is how the capital of the UK has changed from the Roman era to now.

If you like history do consider checking out the archive.
