47 Squadron
RAF Memorial

Today I was honoured to join the Clothworkers Company in recognising the work of 47 Squadron - RAF Special Forces Flight.

A squadron with long history, currently tasked with operating the Hercules C-130J Hercules transport aircraft, 47 Squadron's Special Forces Flight fly airlift and re-supply operations for United Kingdom Special Forces (UKSF).

The Clothworkers are great supporters of the armed forces and contribute £23,000 to No. 47 Squadron RAF annually, as a welfare grant. The annual grant is directed at programmes to support the squadron and its community at home and in deployed locations.

At today’s event the company gave out community awards recognising the work of individuals in the squadron.  An annual opportunity to bring service personal and their families to London and share our thanks for all they do in service.
