James Tumbridge Jo Pearson Elizabeth Fry

Tonight was an opportunity to re connect with the wonderful Jo Pearson, the future High Sheriff of Nelson’s County of Norfolk. After electing the new sheriffs of london the Old Bailey played host to future sheriff’s from across the country.  With Jo I enjoyed a chance to talk about the fine work of a great daughter of Norfolk immortalised in a statute at the Old Bailey - Elizabeth Fry (née Gurney; 21 May 1780 – 12 October 1845), an English prison reformer. Fry was a major force working to improve the treatment of prisoners, especially female inmates, and as such has been called the "Angel of Prisons"
