Common Hall is the assembly of Liverymen who elect the Lord Mayor, Sheriffs, and other officers. Common Hall developed from an early assembly of citizens and have for hundreds of years elected people in London. Today was a first because whilst we have had women serve as Lord Mayor, from today we have a Lady Mayor. A small but important evolution on the journey to recognise the contribution of women in our city. A privilege to be a voter and take part in electing Dame Sue Langley.
